How do you make a wishing well box?

Creating a wishing well box is a delightful way to share your hopes with friends and family. It's a meaningful token of faith and goodwill that can be used for any occasion, from weddings and birthdays to graduations or anniversaries. The process doesn't need to be complicated either – with some imagination and craft supplies, you can easily construct your very own wishing well. Here's how to get started!

Firstly, find a suitable box. You'll want something with an airtight lid so that the wishes won't escape before they reach their desired destination. An ideal size would be roughly 10-12 inches long, 6-8 inches wide and 4-6 inches deep. If you don't have a box of this dimension handy, consider repurposing one from around your home or visit a craft store for some ready-made options.

Next, create the lid of the wishing well by using colored cardstock paper. Cut out two rectangles that fit the size of the box lid and use double-sided tape to secure them together. You could then embellish them further by adding ribbons, stickers or any other creative decorations you like!

Now that you have your well 'walled off', it's time to make it look spectacular! Start by taking an X-acto knife knife to cut out small holes in the bottom part of the Box where people will drop in wishes later on (you may want to put some tissue paper or newspaper underneath first). To keep up appearances, paint the outside of the box in holiday colors for festive occasions or softer pastels for more intimate gatherings. Lastly, make sure there are enough pens or pencils tucked away into one corner so guests can scribble down their wishes quickly and easily - don't forget some spare notepaper too!
